Key Measurement Point [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 75.4 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 75 -- Safeguards on Nuclear Material -- Implementation of US/IAEA Agreement; General Provisions], the term Key Measurement Point means “a location where source or special nuclear material appears in such a form that it may be measured to determine material flow or inventory. Key measurement points include, but are not limited to, the inputs and outputs (including measured discards) and storages in IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) material balance areas.”
