Kinship Adoption Law and Legal Definition
Kinship adoption is the adoption of a child by its relative, either biological or a relative by marriage. Adoption of a child by a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or other member of the extended family is a kinship adoption. In kinship adoption, as opposed to kinship care, the child is adopted legally. Kinship adotion process and the related law vary from state to state.
