Kitchen cabinet refers to an unofficial and informal body of noncabinet advisers. These noncabinet advisers have more sway with the executive than the real cabinet does. Kitchen cabinet was first used in reference to some of President Andrew Jackson’s advisers. President Roosevelt referred his non cabinet advisers as tennis cabinet.
