Knight’s fee means the amount of money or military service a feoff was required to pay to support one knight. It is also called as scutage. Under the feudal system, knight’s fee meant the amount of land that was exchanged for military service. Therefore, knight's fees were used to describe the value of land. Knight’s fee varied from one hide to six hide.
