National Member Banks Law and Legal Definition
Member banks are national or state chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System. A member bank follows the rules and regulations put forward by the central bank or the clearing system.
Pursuant to 12 USCS § 1813, a national member bank is a national bank which is a member of the Federal Reserve System. The term state member bank means a state bank which is a member of the Federal Reserve System.
