NamUs Law and Legal Definition
NamUs is the abbreviation for the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System which is a search-able database that can provide families with hands-on access to a national database of records related to missing and unidentified persons. It is the first national online repository for missing persons records and unidentified. It was launched in July 2007 by the Office of Justice Program’s National Institute of Justice. It consists of two databases: records of unidentified decedents and missing persons reports.
