National Advertising Review Council Law and Legal Definition
National Advertising Review Council (NARC) is a self-regulatory organization that enforces standards of truth and accuracy in advertising through a multi-level review system. NARC's mission is to foster Truth and accuracy in national advertising through voluntary self-regulation. The self-regulatory system developed by NARC supports advertiser compliance by focusing on three goals:
a. minimize governmental involvement in the advertising business;
b. maintain a level playing field for settling disputes among competing advertisers; and
c. foster brand loyalty by increasing public Trust in the credibility of advertising.
