National Gang Intelligence Center Law and Legal Definition
The National Gang Intelligence Center (NGIC) is an agency of the U.S. government. It is led by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation. The NGIC is multiagency effort that integrates the gang intelligence assets of the FBI and other federal, state, and local law enforcement entities to serve as a centralized intelligence resource for gang information and analytical support.
The NGIC aims to support law enforcement agencies by providing timely and accurate information, and sharing strategic/tactical analysis of federal, state, and local law enforcement intelligence. The Center focuses on the growth, migration, criminal activity, and association of gangs that are a significant threat to communities throughout the U.S.
