National Intelligence Estimate Law and Legal Definition
National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) is a written report prepared by National Intelligence Board consisting of U.S. intelligence officers and agencies. NIE is a federal government document and contain authoritative assessment of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) on intelligence related to a particular national security issue. NIE also contain predictions of future events that will take place in a specific foreign country.
