According to 36 CFR 60.3 [Title 36 -- Parks, Forests, and Public Property; Chapter I -- National Park Service, Department of the Interior; Part 60 -- National Register of Historic Places], National Park Service (NPS) is “the bureau of the Department of Interior to which the Secretary of Interior has delegated the authority and responsibility for administering the National Register program.”
