According to 36 CFR 67.2 [Title 36 -- Parks, Forests, and Public Property; Chapter I -- National Park Service, Department of the Interior; Part 67 -- Historic Preservation Certifications Pursuant to Sec. 48(G) And Sec.170(H) Of The Internal Revenue Code Of 1986], National Register of Historic Places means “the National Register of districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects significant in American history, architecture, archeology, engineering, and culture that the Secretary is authorized to expand and maintain pursuant to section 101(a)(1) of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended.”
