National Security Agency Law and Legal Definition
The National Security Agency is the Nation’s cryptologic organization. The core missions of the Agency are to protect U.S. national security systems and to produce foreign signals intelligence information. The National Security Agency has provided timely information to U.S. decision makers and military leaders for more than half a century. The Agency is responsible for protecting U.S. information systems as well as producing foreign intelligence information. The Agency utilizes code makers and code breakers. This is a unique agency among the U.S. defense agencies due to its government-wide responsibilities.
