National Transportation Safety Board Law and Legal Definition
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent federal agency responsible for investigating every civil aviation accident in the U.S. It is also tasked with responsibility of investigating significant accidents in the other modes of transportation, and issuing safety recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents. However, the NTSB's probable cause determinations are inadmissible into evidence in aviation litigations.
