National Wilderness Preservation System Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 50 CFR 35.1 [Title 50 -- Wildlife and Fisheries, Chapter I -- United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of The Interior], the term National Wilderness Preservation System means “the units designated as wilderness by the Congress under the provisions of the Wilderness Act.”
