Native Language [Education] Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 20 USCS § 7011 (11) [Title 20. Education; Chapter 70. Strengthening and Improvement of Elementary and Secondary Schools; Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students; General Provisions], the term native language, when used with reference to an individual of limited English proficiency, means--
“(A) the language normally used by such individual; or
(B) in the case of a child or youth, the language normally used by the parents of the child or youth.”
