Nauticum foenus is a Latin term which means nautical or maritime interest. It is an extraordinary interest rate charged to underwrite a hazardous voyage. It is also termed as usura maritima. Nautica pecunia is a loan to a ship-owner that is to be repaid only on successful termination of voyage.
