Necessitas vincit legem is a Latin maxim meaning “necessity overrules the law”. Necessity is a good defense in law. It removes the restriction imposed by law to a certain extent. Necessity is rooted in moral intuitions, when the conduct which caused harm to another is not wrong and should be tolerated.
