Net Electric Energy Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 451.2 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 451 Renewable Energy Production Incentives], the term net electric energy means “the metered kilowatt-hours (kWh) generated and sold, and excludes electric energy used within the renewable energy facility to power equipment such as pumps, motors, controls, lighting, heating, cooling, and other systems needed to operate the facility.”
