Neutralization Law and Legal Definition
Neutralization refers to the erasure or cancellation of an unexpected harmful testimony, by a showing. Cross-examination or testimonies of other witnesses may be used to show that the testimony in question is harmful and must be erased. Neutralization reveals that the witness has made a statement in conflict with his/her present testimony. [State v. Caraballo, 330 N.J. Super. 545 (App. Div. 2000)]
