Nixie is a piece of mail with an incorrect, incomplete, or illegible address, usually not deliverable.
Nixie is a letter addressed to a fictitious person, or to a place where there was no post-office. [United States v. Denicke, 35 F. 407, 408 (C.C.D. Ga. 1888)].
