No pass no play rule is a state law requiring public school students who participate in extracurricular activities to maintain a minimum grade-point average. It is a state legislation mandating that high school students pass all of their required courses to be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities such as athletic, band, and drama programs. This policy was conceived by H. Ross Perot of Texas and has been adopted by other states.
