Non-Commercial Scientific Institution [Federal Elections] Law and Legal Definition
According to 11 CFR 4.1 (m) [Title 11 -- Federal Elections; Chapter I -- Federal Election Commission; Part 4 -- Public Records and the Freedom of Information Act], the term non-commercial scientific institution means “an organization that is not operated on a commercial basis, as that term is defined in paragraph (k) of this section, and which is operated solely for the purpose of conducting scientific research the results of which are not intended to promote any particular product or industry.”
