Non-Compete Covenant Law and Legal Definition
A non-compete covenant refers to a legal document ensuring that an employee will not compete against an employer or former employer. By this an employee agrees not to pursue a similar profession or trade in competition against the employer. Since competitors often recruit each others employees hoping to gain an advantage, these covenants are especially important. As a contract provision, a non-compete covenant is bound by traditional contract requirements.
