Non Compos Mentis Law and Legal Definition
Non compos mentis is a Latin term which means ‘not of sound mind’. A person not in control of oneself can be said to be non compos mentis. A person not capable to go to trial is also non compos mentis. This term can also be used to describe a person in a confused state or intoxicated.
