Non Est Factum Law and Legal Definition
Non Est Factum is the Latin phrase meaning "it is not my deed." The principle permits a signing party to escape performance of the agreement by claiming that the signature on the contract was signed by mistake, without knowledge of its meaning, but was not done so negligently. Such a contract would be void ab initio.
