Nonindigenous Species Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 16 USCS § 941b (7), [Title 16. Conservation; Chapter 15B. Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration] the term nonindigenous species means “a species of plant, animal, or other organism that did not occur in the Great Lakes Basin before European colonization of North America.”
