Notice of Abandonment Law and Legal Definition
Notice of abandonment is a written notification from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This notice shows that an application has been declared abandoned or, is no longer pending before the USPTO. In cases where the application was abandoned unintentionally or due to office error, the applicant has a deadline of two months from the issue date of the notice of abandonment to file either a petition to revive the application, or a request to reinstate the application.
