Notice to Produce Law and Legal Definition
Notice to produce is a written notice by one party to a civil action requiring the other party to produce documents in his/her possession at the trial. When the party fails to produce the document after notice, secondary evidence of the documents can be given. In case of disclosure and inspection of documents, the person making disclosure is deemed to have notice to produce the documents that are in his/her possession, custody, or power.
