Nova Debita Law and Legal Definition
Nova Debita is a Latin expression used to denote new debts. It is the debt newly, presently, or recently contracted, as opposed to prior debt. The payment of a nova debita although contracted within sixty days before bankruptcy are not struck down by a subsequent confiscation. However, a security granted by a debtor within sixty days of his bankruptcy for a prior debt has a fraudulent inclination.
