Nuclear Reactor Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 50.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 50 -- Domestic Licensing Of Production and Utilization Facilities; General Provisions], nuclear reactor means “an apparatus, other than an atomic weapon, designed or used to sustain nuclear fission in a self-supporting chain reaction.”
