Nuclear Reactor Internals [Nuclear Regulatory Commission] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 110.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 110 -- Export and Import of Nuclear Equipment and Material; Subpart A -- General Provisions], nuclear reactor internals means “the major structures within a reactor vessel that have one or more functions such as supporting the core, maintaining fuel alignment, directing primary coolant flow, providing radiation shields for the reactor vessel, and guiding in-core instrumentation.”
