Office of Dispute Resolution [Department of Justice] Law and Legal Definition
The Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR) is a component of the U.S. Department of justice that makes available dispute resolution programs and services. The mission of ODR is to promote and facilitate the disputes resolution broad and effective use of alternative dispute resolution processes by the Department of Justice and throughout the executive branch of the federal government. The Office monitors and evaluates the use of alternative dispute resolution processes throughout the Department. It represents the Department leadership with foreign governments as well as the private sector in alternative dispute resolution matters and facilitating the effective use of alternative dispute resolution in litigation and agency administrative disputes.
