Office of General Counsel [FCC] Law and Legal Definition
The Office of General Counsel is a staff office of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The office serves as the chief legal advisor to the FCC, FCC’s various bureaus, and FCC’s various other offices.
The Counsel functions include ;
a. representing the FCC in litigation in federal courts ;
b. recommending decisions in adjudicatory matters before the Commission ;
c. assisting the Commission in its decision making capacity and performs a variety of legal functions regarding internal; and
d. other administrative matters.
