Office of Legislative Affairs [Federal Communications Commission] Law and Legal Definition
The Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA) is a staff office of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The OLA is the FCC's liaison to Congress, other Federal agencies; and state and local governments.
The functions of the OLA include:
a. providing lawmakers with information regarding FCC regulatory decisions;
b. answering to policy questions;
c. assisting constituent concerns;
d. preparing FCC witnesses for Congressional hearings;
e. helping to create FCC responses to legislative proposals and Congressional inquiries.
