Office of Management Policy [Department of State] Law and Legal Definition
The Office of Management Policy is a part of the U.S. Department of State that serves as a focal point for management improvement initiatives by providing dedicated policy and analytical support to the Under Secretary for Management. The Office coordinates cross-cutting management policy issues, including the Department’s response to the President’s Management Agenda.
The policy staff of the Office conducts following functions:
a. managing and coordinating press and public outreach in addition to Congressional outreach for the entire M-family of bureaus;
b. coordinating and overseeing the Department’s initiatives within the President’s Management Agenda;
c. managing the Accountability Review Board (ARB) function for the Secretary of State;
d. acting as liaison with the Office of Inspector General(OIG) and the Government Accountability Office (GAO) for M-family recommendations and findings;
e. providing advice and recommendations for cross-cutting issues when impasse is reached; and
f. setting the policy for the Department’s central system data warehouse.
