Office of Technology Assessment Law and Legal Definition
Office of Technology Assessment (“OTA”) was a department of the federal government established to report to Congress on the scientific or technological impact of proposed legislation. The OTA was created by the Technology Assessment Act of 1972 and consisted of a director, a technology assessment board, a technology assessment advisory council, consultants, and other employees necessary to complete assigned tasks. The OTA closed on September 29, 1995.
