On-Track Safety [Transportation] Law and Legal Definition
According to 49 CFR 214.7 [Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle B Other Regulations Relating to Transportation; Chapter II Federal Railroad Administration, Department of Transportation; Part 214 Railroad Workplace Safety; Subpart A – General], on-track safety means “a state of freedom from the danger of being struck by a moving railroad train or other railroad equipment, provided by operating and safety rules that govern track occupancy by personnel, trains and on-track equipment.”
