One-Court-of-Justice Doctrine Law and Legal Definition
One court of justice doctrine is a principle followed in some U.S. states which holds that there is only a single court in a state. This single court consists of several divisions, such like the Supreme Court, the courts of appeals, and district courts, probate courts, and any other legislatively created courts. For example Art VI, § 1 of the Michigan Constitution embodies this principle.
