Open and Notorious Cohabitation Law and Legal Definition
Open and notorious adulterous cohabitation is the immoral and licentious acts of a man and women openly living together under circumstances that make such arrangement illegal.
The following is an example of a case law defining the term:
The words 'open and notorious cohabitation' mean the act or state of a man and woman not married to each other who dwell together in the same house behaving themselves as man and wife." [United States v. Leach, 7 U.S.C.M.A. 388, 407 (C.M.A. 1956)].
