Operation Peppermint Law and Legal Definition
Operation peppermint is the code name for the United States project to create a radiation weapon during the cold war. Operation Peppermint was based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and was responsible for a radioactive iodine cloud which spread over the Oak Ridge Valley from 1944 to 1956. Under the codename Operation Peppermint, special equipment was prepared and Chemical Warfare Service teams were trained in its use.
