Order of Business Law and Legal Definition
Order of business refers to the order or sequence in which a meeting considers its business. For the government of the presiding person, a settled order of business is required. This shall restrain individual members from calling up matters in which they have interest in, or their favorite measures under their special patronage, out of their just turn. This also enables directing the discretion of the house.
In relation to business matters, order of the business is one that is scheduled for consideration at a certain time. It outranks and interrupts any other business except a special order scheduled earlier for the same time.
