According to 38 CFR 1.460 (Title 38 -Pensions, Bonuses, And Veterans' Relief; Chapter I - Department Of Veterans Affairs; Part 1 - General Provisions; Release Of Information From Department Of Veterans Affairs Records Relating To Drug Abuse, Alcoholism Or Alcohol Abuse, Infection With The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Or Sickle Cell Anemia), an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) means “an organization that performs or coordinates the procurement, preservation, and transportation of organs and maintains a system of locating prospective recipients for available organs.”
