Original Source Law and Legal Definition
An original source is defined under False Claims Act as “an individual who has: (1) direct and independent knowledge of the information on which the allegations are based; and (2) has voluntarily provided the information to the government before filing an action under this section which is based on the information.” United States ex rel. Duxbury v. Ortho Biotech Prods., L.P., 579 F.3d 13 (1st Cir. Mass. 2009)
