Overfishing Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 16 USCS § 1802 (34), [Title 16. Conservation; Chapter 38. Fishery Conservation and Management; Generally] the terms overfishing and overfished mean “a rate or level of fishing mortality that jeopardizes the capacity of a fishery to produce the maximum sustainable yield on a continuing basis.”
