Railroad Police Officer Law and Legal Definition
According to 49 CFR 207.2 [Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle B Other Regulations Relating to Transportation; Chapter II Federal Railroad Administration, Department of Transportation; Part 207 Railroad Police Officers], railroad police officer means “a peace officer who is commissioned in his or her state of legal residence or state of primary employment and employed by a railroad to enforce state laws for the protection of railroad property, personnel, passengers, and/or cargo.”
