Reading Room Records Law and Legal Definition
According to 49 CFR 7.2 (Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle A - Office Of The Secretary Of Transportation; Part 7 - Public Availability Of Information; Subpart A - General Provisions), reading room records means “ those records required to be made available to the public under 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(2) as described in § 7.5 of Subpart B of Title 49. These records are made available through DOT's Primary Electronic Access Facility. Other records may also be made available at DOT's discretion at DOT inspection facilities, including DOT's Primary Electronic Access Facility.”
