Receiving Agent [Patents] Law and Legal Definition
According to 37 CFR 261.2 [Title 37 -- Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights; Chapter II -- Copyright Office, Library of Congress; Subchapter B -- Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel Rules and Procedures; Part 261 -- Rates and Terms for Eligible Nonsubscription Transmissions and the Making of Ephemeral Reproductions], the term Receiving Agent “is the agent designated by the Librarian of Congress for the collection of royalty payments made pursuant to this part by Licensees and the distribution of those royalty payments to Designated Agents, and that has been identified as such in § 261.4(b). The Receiving Agent may also be a Designated Agent.”
