Recipient Obligation Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 605.3 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter H Assistance Regulations; Part 605 The Office of Energy Research Financial Assistance Program], the term recipient obligation means “the amounts of orders placed, contracts and subawards issued, services received, and similar transactions during a given period that will require payment by the recipient during the same or a future period.”
