Recognizee Law and Legal Definition
Recognizee refers to the person to whom the promise is made in a recognizance; the person to whom an obligation is owed in a recognizance. A person entering into a recognizance is bound to the recognizee. Recognizance is an obligation entered by a person before a court. Recognizer acknowledges or recognizes that he/she will do a specific act necessary by law.
