Reducing Americans' Vulnerability to Ecstasy Act Law and Legal Definition
The Reducing Americans' Vulnerability to Ecstacy Act was a bill proposed by Senator Joseph Biden and Senator Charles Grassley in the United States Senate during the 107th Congress to address the increasing use of the drug. The RAVE Act as its commonly referred, was an attempt by legislators to reduce the illegal use of MDMA (ecstasy) and other drugs by broadly expanding Section 416(a) of the Controlled Substance Act (21 U.S.C. 856(a)). This legislation targets music promoters, venue managers and land owners rather than drug users or drug dealers. At present, most of the provisions of the Act are incorporated in the Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act of 2003.
